With our deep commitment towards nation building by being the globally admired leader in integrated infrastructure business, we have been equally focused with our presence into Mining & Trading businesses across geographies comprising of India & Indonesia Mining (for Mining Businesses) and Thermal Coal, Pet coke, Coking Coal and Bunkering (for Trading Businesses).

 

We feel proud to be in all the businesses we venture into because we know that each and every employee within these businesses strives really hard to make it reach the pinnacle. And our presence in the Coal Trading Business exemplifies that perfectly - we are the undisputed market leader and also one of the cash cows for the group. Even for the Coal Mining Business, wherein we entered in the year 2007 (within India) through the Mine Developer & Operator (MDO) business model, we have four projects in hand across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand states, out of which we have already commissioned the first successful MDO model at Parsa East and Kente Extension with a capacity of 15MTPA.

 

We are committed to becoming one of the largest coal miners across the globe; and hence in the year 2008, we bought the 180MMT capacity Bunyu Coal Mine in Indonesia. In 2009, we produced 1MMT of Coal through this mine and in FY2015, the production was 5MMT, which is the highest-ever coal production in Bunyu with optimized manpower and cost (which can be compared to Global Benchmarks). We have also made our mark in Oil trading and Bunkering business, and are already the largest bunker supplier in India. Driving synergy from our ports, we are steadily progressing towards making India’s mark on global bunkering map, taking it to the level of Singapore and Fujairah. With the entrepreneurial ability of our team, we aspire to become one of the top 10 bunker players in the world within the next 5 years.

 

The synergies we get out of these SBUs give us the edge to be far ahead of our competition and, at the same time, help us in giving adequate opportunities to our employees through Job Rotation, Job Enrichment and Enlargement. The risk-taking ability of Adani Group has helped its employees in imbibing a culture of CTC (Courage, Trust and Commitment), which are our Group Values as well. It has also helped in increasing their risk appetite, which helps them in envisaging beyond boundaries and working in Cross-Functional Teams with specific timelines and agenda.
